With Your Buckpole.net Guide: Jon Book

Sometimes it's hard judging the distance between you and that nice whitetail buck when he comes within shooting range.

We sometimes second guess ourselves and come up short or long on that most important shot, shot number one. One and only one will be your best chance, so why not take some of the guesswork out of it.

What has helped me, is to take a small piece of cloth and color code them and tie them on small branches or twigs around my stand. For example, green would be 20 yards, yellow 30, and red 40. Green would definitely be my go shot where red would be stop and wait. The little colored cloths will also act as wind indicators and help you to achieve a successful hunt.
